The ECO Ambassadors are part of the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG) volunteers with the focus on environmental issues.

As an ECO Ambassador, you will be at the forefront representing Singapore to spread environmental-friendly messages to the world. Through your actions, you will ensure that the YOG participants as well as the speculators appreciate what Singapore has done for environmental conservation and sustainable development.

ECO Ambassadors will also uphold a strong social responsibility to set high standards with regard to preserving our current environment by leading a more conscious and responsible lifestyle.

There is no age limit on becoming an ECO Ambassador. However, you should take into consideration your academic/work commitments prior to signging up as an ECO Ambassador ( Example: students taking the GCE O Level or A Level Examinations at the end of 2010).

What it takes to be an ECO Ambassador?

- Passion! Excited about the inaugural YOG and willing to be an ambassador in front of the YOG participants and speculators.

- Prepared! Able to complete all three compulsory in-person training sessions (and 6 online sessions) prior to the YOG including lectures, site visits and a dry run. The three sessions will be in the first quarter, April and June respectively.

- Participate! Give your time and service for the duration of the YOG (from 14 to 26 August 2010) and the heats (10th August onwards). Also, we really hope you'd be down to support the YOG 100 days Countdown.

- Play! Have fun and make the best out of this experience. Influence and inspire others on the Olympic spirit through your zest!
